Wool is the classic material: it drapes properly, it breathes, and it's what the tradition has always used. The blue stripes echo the tekhelet thread of Numbers 15:38 — "make tzitzit on the corners of your garments throughout your generations."

Choosing a size: the "worn at the neck" sizes drape like a wide scarf — common in many congregations. The full-body sizes wrap the shoulders in the traditional manner and are matched to your height in the size list.
