Who we are
Beit Aleph Tav is a bookshop run out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. It is not a ministry and it is not a front for one — it is a bookshop, and you are reading a page written by the people who pack the orders.
How we came to this
For a long time, something felt off to us about the abstract concepts of Western Christian theology — doctrines we could not find in the Bible, theology that seemed to contradict itself. Following our Jewish heritage, we veered off that path and began investigating the one thing we share with Yeshua himself: a Jewish heritage.
We have not arrived at all the answers. We are still learning how to practice, and as we keep learning, the landscape in front of us keeps changing. This shop is our way of sharing that journey. Let's walk it together.
Where we stand
We hold that Yeshua of Nazareth is the Mashiach of Israel. Our full confession is on What We Believe.
What we deliberately do not do is take sides on the arguments inside this community — One Law, the calendar reckonings, the divine Name. We stock across them and we label everything so you can choose.
Why this shop exists
Because searching for a Messianic book online is a mess. Type “Messianic Judaism” into a bookseller and you get counter-missionary titles, books arguing the movement is divisive, and public-domain scans sold at the price of real editions — all mixed in with the good ones, none of it labelled.
So we label. Every book here says which tradition it comes from, whether the author affirms Yeshua, and whether it argues a position not everyone in this community holds. We carry mainstream Jewish scholarship and say plainly that it is. We have turned down books that would have sold.
That is the whole business. People who know this community chose these titles, and tell you the truth about them.

If we get something wrong — a description, a claim, a transliteration — write and tell us. We would rather be corrected than confidently mistaken in front of people who know better.
